We then jump right in to our review of the season 2 premiere for Batwoman on The CW, and it offers a welcome change of pace and overall improvement from season 1. Episode 30 - Christmas Party Special!
Sunday Dec 20, 2020
Sunday Dec 20, 2020
We're closing out our 2020 season with a virtual party! We gathered some guests and each brought drinks, merriment, and a film to battle for the title of King of Christmas. Mark chose a hotly debated film, Die Hard; Jasmin came into the ring with the hilarious and festive Trading Places; Peggy (Peggy at the Movies) chose rom-com The Family Man; Stephen (Fox Storytelling) came with a Disney darling, While You Were Sleeping; and Robbie (Pop Culture Philosophers) came to slay with Gremlins. Which film came out on top? You'll have to tune in to find out! We've also done something a little different with this episode and uploaded a video version to YouTube!
Thank you so much for listening in 2020! We're taking a couple of weeks off for the holidays and will be back with plenty of new content in 2021! Cheers!

Episode 29 - That Texas Blood Issues 1-6 and Batwoman Season 1
Sunday Dec 13, 2020
Sunday Dec 13, 2020
There was so much news this week, we had to break it off into its own episode! So if you're looking for info on the Disney Investor's Day and The Game Awards 2020, please give episode 28 a listen!
As for our reviews, this episode covers the first six issues of That Texas Blood from Image Comics and the first season of Batwoman on the CW. We really loved Chris Condon and Jacob Phillips' debut comic! It doesn't smack you in the face right out of the gate, but it brings the kind of satisfaction that only a slow burn story can. Gritty art and biting dialogue make this series a must read! We also finished off Batwoman season 1 to get ready for all the changes coming down the pipe in the second season. Instead of a traditional review, we opted for a top 5 likes and dislikes from the first season, then we'll leave you with our thoughts on what we hope for in season 2.

Episode 28 - NEWS SPECIAL! - Disney Investor's Day and The Game Awards
Saturday Dec 12, 2020
Saturday Dec 12, 2020
What a busy news week! So busy, in fact, we recorded a special episode with just the news. Disney made some huge announcements in their 4+ hour Investor's Day virtual conference. 10 Star Wars series, 10 Marvel series, and 30 Disney+ additions from across all House of Mouse brands. After a global pandemic drastically reduced content in 2020, Disney has just laid out a 3-year plan that promises to inject said content directly into consumer's streaming veins. Additionally, The Game Awards 2020 was held on December 10th, and we talk about the year's biggest winners (hint: Naughty Dog), and we get excited about some of the world premiere game trailers from the show. Because there is SO MUCH INFORMATION this week, we've included two posts on our website that has lists of all the Disney announcements and The Game Awards winners and trailers.
